I hate that Arkansas did not get Malzahn first but Auburn hired him today according to James Bryant of ASTATENATION who I heard on 103.7 FM the buzz on the “Overtime” radio show with Matt Jones.
BREAKING: Reports Say Auburn Hires Gus Malzahn As New Head Coach

AUBURN, Ala. (WHNT) – According to multiple reports, Auburn University has hired Gus Malzahn as the school’s new head football coach.
Auburn University has not confirmed these reports at this time.
Malzahn previously held the Offensive Coordinator job at Auburn from 2009-2011. He left Auburn after the 2011 season to become the head coach at Arkansas State.
Malzahn replaces Gene Chizik who was fired on November 25th after Auburn went 3-9, and 0-8 in SEC play.
Chizik hired Malzahn as Offensive Coordinator on December 28, 2008.
Malzahn led Arkansas State to a 9-3 record in 2012.
